HP debuts new AI-enhanced laptops to transform workspaces

HP has announced a range of new products aimed at reshaping how people work in an increasingly AI-driven world. The tech giant’s latest offerings include next-gen laptops designed for creative professionals and business experts, alongside new video conferencing tools and a solution to address the growing demand for scalable AI performance.

New AI-driven laptops: OmniBook Ultra Flip and EliteBook X

HP introduced the OmniBook Ultra Flip, a 14-inch 2-in-1 laptop designed with freelancers and creators in mind. The device combines flexibility with performance, allowing users to switch between laptop, tablet, and tent modes for different tasks. Equipped with an Intel Core Ultra processor and AI-enhanced security features, the OmniBook Ultra Flip is engineered to provide users with a seamless experience for creative workflows.

Another key feature is its focus on sustainability—HP claims that the device is made with 90 percent recycled metals and 50 percent post-consumer recycled plastics, aligning with the company’s broader environmental commitments.

For business users, HP introduced the EliteBook X, a 14-inch AI-powered laptop targeted at tech experts and consultants. The laptop is built for high-performance computing tasks, with 64 GB of LPDDR5x RAM and the latest AMD Ryzen PRO processor. One of its standout features is its AI-enhanced security, including quantum hack protection and an AI-powered webcam sensor that alerts users if someone is looking at their screen.

HP Z Boost: On-demand GPU sharing

Addressing the growing demand for AI processing power, HP introduced Z by HP Boost, a new GPU-sharing solution aimed at data scientists and AI developers. This service allows companies to optimise their GPU resources and provide scalable, on-demand computing power for AI workloads. Z by HP Boost is designed to help organisations maximise productivity while minimising the need for costly cloud services.

AI-enhanced video conferencing solutions

HP also expanded its range of AI-driven video conferencing products. The company unveiled new Poly Studio X and Poly Studio V series video bars designed for meeting rooms of all sizes. These systems feature AI-enhanced capabilities such as advanced noise reduction and AI-driven camera setups, enabling smoother remote collaboration. HP’s Poly Lens platform, which provides tools for managing video conferencing hardware, has also been updated with features like remote room control for IT administrators.

Additionally, HP announced a partnership with Google on Project Starline, a new AI-powered 3D video conferencing solution that creates a more immersive and lifelike communication experience. HP expects the first units to be available in 2025.

Focus on sustainability

HP continues to emphasise sustainability in its new product lineup. The EliteBook X incorporates recycled materials such as copper and plastic, while also offering features designed to minimise power consumption. Similarly, the OmniBook Ultra Flip has received ENERGY STAR certification, and HP aims to continue reducing the environmental impact of its devices across the board.
