The Department of Government Enablement – Abu Dhabi (DGE) has launched an AI-powered Policy Development Programme aimed at strengthening policymaking capabilities among senior government leaders as the emirate continues to advance its digital transformation agenda.
The programme has been developed in partnership with the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy (LKYSPP) and is designed for Executive Directors and equivalent officials responsible for policy design, implementation and oversight across Abu Dhabi’s government entities.
The initiative combines policy development with artificial intelligence, equipping participants with practical skills to identify policy challenges, evaluate policy tools, address implementation barriers and incorporate international best practices into government decision-making. Participants will also explore the application of AI in policymaking, behavioural insights, policy communication, monitoring and evaluation.
As part of the programme, participants will attend an intensive learning module in Singapore featuring workshops, lectures, group projects and engagements with policy experts. The curriculum also includes learning journeys focused on transformational governance, Smart Nation Singapore and the use of AI in the public sector.

It will equip leaders to turn strategy into action and measurable outcomes while advancing a connected, future-ready government ecosystem.”
The programme forms part of Abu Dhabi’s broader efforts to build future-ready government capabilities and enhance public sector performance through technology-enabled governance. The initiative is intended to help government leaders develop more responsive, data-driven policies while supporting the emirate’s long-term vision for innovation and institutional excellence.
