Huawei has introduced the HUAWEI WATCH D3, a health-focused smartwatch designed to make blood pressure monitoring and everyday health management more accessible. Building on more than a decade of research in blood pressure health, the new device combines medical-grade blood pressure monitoring capabilities with a smartwatch experience.
Designed as a wrist-worn blood pressure monitor, the WATCH D3 allows users to take readings directly from their wrist without having to set aside time for a conventional monitoring routine. It also introduces dedicated pre- and post-exercise blood pressure measurements, helping users track changes around physical activity.
Simplifying blood pressure monitoring
The WATCH D3 is designed to make regular blood pressure checks straightforward. Users can initiate measurements with a few taps, provided they remain still and keep their wrist at heart level. Measurements can also be scheduled automatically, while reminders help users take manual readings.
Through the Huawei Health app, users can access weekly blood pressure management reports featuring statistical summaries of their readings, blood pressure trends and progress against recommended targets.
The smartwatch also supports pre- and post-exercise measurements, offering additional insights into blood pressure changes around workouts. Huawei says the WATCH D3 is the world’s first wrist-worn device to pass ISO standards for accurate blood pressure measurement during exercise with elevated heart rates. Following a workout, the device can measure blood pressure and recommend avoiding intense exercise if an elevated reading is detected.
A design built for everyday wear
Alongside its health monitoring capabilities, the WATCH D3 features a minimalist design and streamlined profile intended for extended everyday wear. It is available in Black, Gold and Mocha Gold.
The Gold and Mocha Gold variants feature composite vegan leather straps, while the Black model uses soft, durable rubber. The device also features a 1.92-inch AMOLED display with narrow bezels and brightness designed to support visibility in direct sunlight.
Expanded health monitoring capabilities
The WATCH D3 introduces an upgraded Health Glance feature, which generates a multi-dimensional health report in approximately 60 seconds. The report covers basic health, cardiovascular health, respiratory health and women’s health.
The latest version adds four indicators: 24-hour heart rate variability (HRV), a coronary heart disease risk study, a hyperuricemia risk study and a polycystic ovary health study. Together with its existing indicators, the watch analyses up to 17 health metrics to provide users with a broader overview of their wellbeing.
Personalised insights for daily readiness
Huawei has also added Morning Greeting and Physical Readiness Score features to help users understand their daily recovery and activity levels.
Between five and ten minutes after waking, the watch delivers a morning greeting alongside personalised health insights based on the previous day’s activity and health data.
The Physical Readiness Score considers factors including sleep quality, HRV, emotional state and active calories to assess the user’s overall condition. A higher score indicates better recovery, while a lower score may point to recent physical overload or insufficient rest.
With its combination of blood pressure monitoring, exercise-related measurements and expanded health insights, the HUAWEI WATCH D3 aims to bring more comprehensive health tracking into users’ everyday routines.
