GITEX Nigeria 2025 marked a milestone in Africa’s digital journey. Partnering with Channel Insights Middle East, DCG brought together more than 20 member delegates to Lagos, representing a wide spectrum of ICT solutions and services.
For DCG, the inaugural GITEX Nigeria was more than just another international showcase—it was about building bridges between Dubai’s technology ecosystem and Nigeria’s fast-growing digital economy.
Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial capital, set the stage for this historic event. Against the backdrop of the Government Leadership & AI Summit in Abuja, leaders outlined Nigeria’s ambition to take a front seat in Africa’s digital economy. Over two days, the GITEX Nigeria Tech Expo, Future Economy Conference, and Startup Festival created a vibrant platform for policy discussions, innovation showcases, and meaningful business connections.
Reflecting on DCG’s role, Ashok Kumar, CEO of New Trend Computer Network and President of DCG, said: “We have over 20 delegates representing Dubai Computer Group, showcasing their solutions at GITEX Nigeria. This is our first experience in the African market, and I’m grateful to all delegates for giving their 100 per cent to make this event a success.”
The energy in Lagos confirmed what many in the region already knew: Nigeria is a market long overdue for global engagement. For DCG members, the event was not just about presence—it was about partnership, learning, and discovering real business opportunities.
Dharmendra Sawlani, Partner & MD, Savvy Impex FZCO and Ex-president of DCG, captured the sentiment well: “I’m thankful to GITEX for organising such a wonderful event in Nigeria. This huge market was long overdue. The response from potential customers has been amazing, the market potential is huge, and I’m optimistic we can all do great business here.”
What stood out at GITEX Nigeria was the shift from mere technology adoption to scalable, impactful solutions. The conversations extended beyond product showcases into real-world applications—healthcare, finance, education—areas where Africa’s digital leap could be transformational.
Local startups played a pivotal role, proving that Africa’s innovation ecosystem is not just resilient but ready to compete globally. For DCG members, this was a unique chance to align with homegrown innovators and explore new business models.
For DCG, this event reinforced its role as a connector of ecosystems. By bringing Dubai-based solution providers face-to-face with Africa’s decision-makers and entrepreneurs, DCG demonstrated how collaboration can accelerate digital growth.
GITEX Nigeria 2025 wasn’t just an exhibition—it was a strategic launchpad for DCG and its members into Africa’s digital future. The connections made in Lagos are only the beginning of what promises to be a long and fruitful engagement between Dubai’s ICT community and Africa’s rapidly expanding digital economy.
