Mashreq sets regional benchmark with SAP Fieldglass, becoming first in GCC to launch full suite, completed in record time

Mashreq sets regional benchmark with SAP Fieldglass

Mashreq has successfully completed the implementation of SAP Fieldglass, becoming the first bank in the GCC to deploy all three core modules – Contingent Workforce Management, Services Procurement, and Assignment Management – under a vendor-funded Managed Service Provider (MSP) model.

Mashreq’s Norman Tambach, Group CFO (centre), flanked by Mohamed Abdel Razek, Group Head of Technology, Transformation & Information, and SAP UAE Managing Director Marwan Zeineddine, were joined by colleagues at a ceremony to celebrate the successful SAP Fieldglass deployment.

Building on this strategic first, Mashreq achieved another milestone by completing the deployment in just six months – one of the fastest known full-suite SAP Fieldglass implementations globally.

This bold transformation reflects Mashreq’s continued commitment to pioneering digital solutions in financial services. The integration of SAP Fieldglass not only elevated intelligent workforce management but also introduced AI-powered features – underscoring Mashreq’s forward-looking approach to next-generation technologies. While some in the industry questioned whether such a comprehensive, vendor-funded deployment could be delivered at this speed and scale, the outcome has not only validated Mashreq’s vision but also impressed SAP stakeholders – reinforcing the bank’s position as a regional thought leader in technology-driven transformation.

Delivered through a powerful collaboration between Mashreq, SAP, implementation partner apsolut, and global MSP Workspend, the initiative marks a new era in intelligent external workforce management in the GCC and beyond.

Norman Tambach, Group Chief Financial Officer at Mashreq, said: “This wasn’t just about deploying a system – it was about transforming how we manage external talent and services across the bank. We’re proud to be the first in the region to adopt all three SAP Fieldglass modules under a vendor-paid MSP model and doing it in record time is a testament to the laser-focused collaboration across teams. Today, we have a centralised, intelligent, and fully transparent way of managing our external workforce, aligned with our long-term transformation agenda.”

Mohamed Abdel Razek, Group Head of Technology, Transformation & Information at Mashreq, added: “With this implementation, we’ve embedded resilience and intelligence into a critical aspect of our operations. SAP Fieldglass equips us with real-time visibility, streamlined workflows, and advanced analytics that support smarter decisions and faster execution. This is what future-ready operations look like.”

Marwan Zeineddine, Managing Director of SAP UAE, commented: “Mashreq has set a new regional and global benchmark for digital workforce management. Deploying all three Fieldglass modules in such a short timeframe is a remarkable achievement. Together with apsolut and Workspend, we’ve enabled a next-generation operating model for managing external talent at scale.”

The solution provides Mashreq with a single source of truth for its external workforce and services, enabling smarter procurement, stronger compliance, and better alignment with regulatory standards. The Fieldglass platform integrates seamlessly with Mashreq’s systems, delivering enhanced oversight across the lifecycle of contingent engagements.
