University of Dubai and emt partner to strengthen cybersecurity & AI collaboration

The University of Dubai (UD), an AACSB and ABET accredited institution, through its Cyber-Security and Applied Resilience (C-SAR) Center, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with emt, a leading cybersecurity solutions and services provider in the Middle East and Africa region.

The agreement was signed by Dr. Eesa Bastaki, President of the University of Dubai, and Mo Mobasseri, Chief Executive Officer of emt, during a ceremony held in Dubai.

The MOU establishes a framework for cooperation between the two entities, with the following areas identified as key priorities:

• Promotion of initiatives and programs: Joint promotion of products, services, courses, and activities, including initiatives under the University’s C-SAR Center.
• Preferential access: Extension of preferential rates and offers on programs, services, and products to the employees and families of both parties.
• Research collaboration: Development of collaborative research and joint projects, particularly in the fields of cybersecurity and digital resilience.
• Student development: Facilitation of internship placements and practical training opportunities for University of Dubai students through emt and the C-SAR Center.
• Industry engagement: Delivery of guest lectures, seminars, and solution presentations by emt experts to University of Dubai students, providing direct exposure to current industry practices and technologies.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Eesa Bastaki underlined the significance of the partnership: “The University of Dubai is committed to advancing knowledge and practice in cybersecurity. Our collaboration with emt provides a strong platform to link academic research with industry expertise, thereby supporting the UAE’s efforts in building a secure and resilient digital ecosystem.”

Mo Mobasseri added: “emt values the role of academic partnerships in developing future talent. This agreement with the University of Dubai reflects our shared commitment to fostering research, innovation, and professional development in the field of cybersecurity in the region. This initiative is part of our Corporate Social Responsibility and reflects my personal dream to ensure we equip and train the future heroes of our country and the wider region.”

The MOU will remain in effect for a period of two years and reflects both parties’ intent to foster meaningful collaboration in support of the UAE’s national priorities in cybersecurity and digital resilience.
