AppCentrix forays into Middle East

The South Africa-based managed ICT services company AppCentrix, today announced its expansion into the Middle East and signing of a distribution agreement with ExtraHop.The company intends to capitalise on the region’s growing need for robust and competitively priced cybersecurity solutions by introducing its subscription-based managed services model that also drives strategic decision making by delivering data analysis for management insight.

Managed security services have been gaining steady traction in the Middle East over the last three years. “Organisations have been keen to address their IT skills and resource constraints by employing the technical expertise of providers such as AppCentrix. However, they are also keen to engage with partners who have demonstrated commitment to the region as, after all, security is deeply rooted in trust,” explained Omar Sati, Executive Board Member at AppCentrix International.

“As the demand for IT analytics grows, businesses are searching for solutions that uncover opportunities and threats across the entire IT landscape. Our quest is to provide the most advanced, intelligent products to deliver real-time visibility of the network for business, security and IT. ExtraHop gives unprecedented real-time visibility, and we’re proud to highlight it as the leading product in our portfolio. Any enterprise, government agency, financial institution, service provider and Oil & Gas organization looking to leverage the power of network, application performance management and security through a consolidated real-time approach, is a potential customer for AppCentrix,” he added.

The company has set forth its three-year plan for the Middle East focused on establishing a regional foothold by first penetrating the leading IT markets of the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia and working with leading local systems integrators and their customers to deliver real-time value through the managed services model. Sati also emphasized his company’s ambitions of partnering with key service providers to leverage the growing popularity of the cloud in the region.

AppCentrix relies on ExtraHop, among other leading monitoring technologies, as the platform for its real-time analytics of networks, applications, video and voice systems. In addition to utilizing ExtraHop’s solutions within its own security operations centre (SOC), AppCentrix will leverage its distributor status to offer all solutions within the vendor’s portfolio to customers across the Middle East, including ExtraHop Reveal(x), the vendor’s latest network security analytics product.

This new security analytics solution builds on enterprise-proven anomaly detection powered by wire data, giving security teams much-needed insight into what’s happening within the enterprise while automating the detection and investigation of threats. By analysing all network interactions for abnormal behaviour and identifying critical assets in the environment, Reveal(x) focuses analysts’ attention on the most important risks and streamlines response to limit exposure.

Commenting on his company’s decision to enter into a strategic partnership with AppCentrix for the Middle East, Owen Cole, VP of Sales EMEA at ExtraHop said, “The best partnerships are formed on a solid foundation of trust. ExtraHop has a steadfast partner in AppCentrix, having worked with the core management team for many years, and having our technology serve as a pillar of the managed services they offer to over 6000 sites. Extending this relationship with the distributor partnership builds on these strengths and gives us a strong footing as we together establish our presence in the Middle East market.”

ExtraHop has customers across the globe from various sectors including healthcare, banking, tech, and education, including Adobe, Microsoft, Salesforce, Flight Centre, and MediLink.
