du has signed a memorandum of understanding with Dubai Taxi Company (DTC) to migrate the company’s core systems to du Tech’s National Hypercloud, marking what the company says is the UAE’s first sovereign cloud platform deployment for the transport sector.
Announced by du at GITEX Global, the agreement will see DTC transition its mission-critical platforms to the Oracle Alloy-based sovereign cloud environment to improve workload performance while supporting AI-ready infrastructure and ensuring data remains within the UAE. According to the company, the move aligns with the country’s Cloud First strategy and data sovereignty requirements.
DTC operates more than 10,000 vehicles, including over 6,200 taxis, and completed 49 million trips in 2024 across its taxi, limousine, bus and delivery businesses, according to the announcement.
The migration is expected to enhance the reliability of DTC’s core systems, reduce technical complexity and legacy IT costs, and enable future integration with digital mobility platforms through autonomous databases, high-performance computing and AI capabilities hosted on the National Hypercloud platform.
“The MoU with Dubai Taxi Company marks a pivotal moment for sovereign digital transformation in the UAE. By modernising DTC’s core systems on du National Hypercloud, we’re creating a blueprint for government-linked enterprises to achieve digital autonomy,” said Fahad Al Hassawi, CEO of du.

According to the companies, the project is intended to serve as a model for sovereign cloud adoption across government-linked and regulated industries in the UAE.
