Saudi Arabia has ranked among the five fastest G20 countries for mobile internet speeds, with median mobile download speeds reaching 216 Mbps in 2025, according to the latest Saudi Internet Report 2025 released by the Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CST).
The report shows the Kingdom’s median mobile download speed increased from 203 Mbps in 2024, while median 5G download speeds reached 320 Mbps. Mobile network latency stood at 24 milliseconds, reflecting continued investment in next-generation digital infrastructure.
Fixed broadband performance also improved, with median download speeds rising to 151 Mbps from 120.4 Mbps a year earlier. Median upload speeds reached 73 Mbps, while fixed broadband latency measured 8 milliseconds, according to the report.
The report also highlights the scale of internet adoption across the Kingdom. Internet penetration reached 99.6 percent, while average monthly mobile data consumption rose to 53 GB per user, approximately three times the global average. According to the report, 61.3 percent of internet users spend at least seven hours online each day.
Network traffic also continued to grow, reaching 69 million terabytes, with domestic traffic accounting for 56 percent of the total and international traffic making up the remaining 44 percent. Mobile and fixed networks each contributed 50 percent of total internet traffic.
The report points to increasing adoption of emerging technologies, with 45.2 percent of internet users now using artificial intelligence applications, more than double the previous year’s level. ChatGPT was identified as the most downloaded AI application.
According to Zawya, the findings reflect Saudi Arabia’s continued progress in expanding digital infrastructure and connectivity as part of its broader digital transformation agenda under Vision 2030.
