Emirates NBD has partnered with the Dubai Future District Fund (DFDF) to identify, test and deploy financial technology and artificial intelligence solutions across its banking operations.
The collaboration will give the bank access to DFDF’s portfolio of startups and enterprise technology companies, enabling structured pilot projects and potential commercial deployment of technologies aligned with Emirates NBD’s digital transformation strategy.
DFDF is Dubai’s AED 1 billion evergreen venture capital fund of funds, anchored by the Dubai International Financial Centre and Dubai Future Foundation, with a mandate to support startups operating across financial services and other future economy sectors.
The partnership will focus on technologies including AI-powered banking, embedded finance, digital assets, SME solutions, WealthTech, compliance technologies and next-generation banking infrastructure.
“Emirates NBD is delighted to be part of this innovative partnership with another national entity focused on transforming Dubai into a nexus for business and an integrated environment for investment. By partnering with DFDF, we anticipate delivering more personalised and intelligent banking experiences, faster deployment of digital banking capabilities, improved fraud detection and financial security, enhanced SME and business banking solutions and seamless onboarding services,” said Marwan Hadi, Group Head of Retail Banking and Wealth Management at Emirates NBD.
According to the announcement, the collaboration also supports Emirates NBD’s National Digital Talent Incubator (NDTI), which develops Emirati entrepreneurs building technology ventures across financial services, AI and digital commerce.
Nader Albastaki, Managing Director at DFDF, said: “We are excited to partner with Emirates NBD, a progressive leader in the financial sector. This collaboration is a testament to our shared vision for a future where innovation drives progress and enhances the daily lives of individuals and businesses.”
The announcement cites industry projections that the UAE’s FinTech market will grow from US$3.16 billion in 2024 to US$5.71 billion by 2029, reflecting continued demand for digital financial services and AI-driven banking technologies.
