The Abu Dhabi Judicial Department (ADJD), in collaboration with the Department of Government Enablement (DGE), will implement what it describes as the world’s first integrated AI Judicial Platform, embedding artificial intelligence across judicial workflows while retaining full human oversight of legal decisions.
The platform will support judicial and legal decision-making by streamlining case management, automating administrative processes and providing AI-assisted legal analysis. All AI-generated outputs will remain subject to human verification and final judicial approval.
The initiative forms part of Abu Dhabi’s broader digital transformation agenda and is intended to enhance the efficiency, consistency and quality of judicial services while supporting the emirate’s ambition to become a global leader in AI-enabled government services.
The implementation will begin in September 2026, with the platform expected to be rolled out over an 18-month period. The system is designed to assist judges, prosecutors and legal professionals by reducing routine administrative workloads and improving access to legal information, allowing judicial staff to focus on more complex legal matters.
“The AI Judicial Platform represents a transformative step in the development of judicial services. It combines advanced technologies with judicial expertise to enhance efficiency, accuracy and the quality of judicial outcomes while ensuring that final decisions remain under full human supervision,” said Counsellor Yousef Saeed Al Abri, Undersecretary of the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department.
The platform is expected to improve procedural efficiency, strengthen consistency across judicial processes and accelerate the delivery of court services without replacing the role of judges. Instead, the initiative positions AI as a decision-support tool that complements judicial expertise while maintaining accountability, transparency and public trust in the legal system.
