NVIDIA has launched the Open Secure AI Alliance (OSAA), a new industry initiative bringing together more than 30 technology and cybersecurity organisations to develop open technologies that strengthen the security and resilience of artificial intelligence systems.
The alliance aims to accelerate the development of open-source tools, frameworks and best practices that help organisations build, evaluate and deploy AI securely as adoption of generative and agentic AI continues to grow.
The alliance includes companies and organisations such as Adobe, Cisco, CrowdStrike, Dell Technologies, Hugging Face, IBM, Microsoft, Palantir, Red Hat and the Linux Foundation. Together, members will collaborate on advancing AI security through open innovation, vulnerability management, benchmarking and the development of interoperable security technologies.
According to NVIDIA, the initiative builds on the role open-source software has played in securing critical digital infrastructure across industries including cloud computing, financial services, telecommunications and government. The company said a collaborative approach to AI security will enable organisations to inspect, adapt and improve security tools while promoting transparency and trust.
The launch comes as enterprises increasingly deploy AI agents, large language models and other autonomous systems, placing greater emphasis on securing AI infrastructure and applications. According to Reuters, the announcement follows heightened industry attention on AI security after a recent cyber incident involving Hugging Face underscored the growing risks associated with AI software supply chains.
The Open Secure AI Alliance will focus on developing practical security capabilities that organisations can adopt to strengthen AI deployments while supporting responsible AI innovation. The initiative reflects a broader industry push to address emerging AI threats through collaboration rather than proprietary approaches, helping enterprises improve the security of AI applications as adoption continues to accelerate.
