Check Point Software Technologies has introduced the Check Point AI Network Firewall, a new capability designed to help organisations secure AI traffic using the firewalls they already operate, without requiring additional infrastructure or network rearchitecture.
Delivered as part of Check Point firewall software release R82.20, the AI Network Firewall is integrated into the company’s AI Defense Plane, extending firewall visibility to AI prompts, autonomous agent interactions and large language model (LLM) traffic that traditional firewalls were not built to inspect.
“AI is transforming the enterprise network, and with the AI Network Firewall, we are transforming the firewall to secure it,” said Nataly Kremer, Chief Product Officer at Check Point. “The network is where every prompt, model call, and agent interaction already converges, yet traditional firewalls were never built to see or govern that activity. By bringing AI security into the firewall organizations already run, we give security teams the visibility and control to enable AI adoption safely, in real time.”
The announcement comes as AI adoption continues to outpace governance efforts. According to Check Point Research’s AI Security Report 2026, between 87 percent and 93 percent of organisations experience at least one high-risk generative AI interaction every month, while prompts containing sensitive corporate, personal or regulated data have doubled over the past year to one in every 25 interactions.
The AI Network Firewall enables organisations to discover AI applications and Model Context Protocol (MCP) communications, inspect prompts and responses in real time, prevent prompt injection attacks, and centrally enforce security policies across AI applications.
The AI Network Firewall forms part of Check Point’s broader AI Defense Plane, which provides unified AI discovery, governance and runtime protection across networks, endpoints, cloud environments, applications and APIs.
