As the industry prepares for a comeback and as the regional governments relax guidelines, restaurants are continuing to fundamentally re-imagine how they do business – digitally and through technology – to keep their operation running smoothly, improve their bottom line, and continue serving their customers.

According to the POSist Restaurant Industry & Market Evolution (PRIME) Report, 70 percent of dine-in restaurants in the UAE are exploring their options of venturing into Cloud Kitchens after the first wave of COVID-19. The established restaurant chains and QSRs are experimenting with hybrid business models that combine dine-in, delivery, and takeaway into one experience, thereby creating multiple revenue streams and reducing the burden on margins.

Although cloud kitchens were already gaining prominence in the UAE, more and more restaurants started pivoting to this model after COVID19 due to lower setup costs and improved margins.  POSist Cloud Kitchen Management software gives restaurants the power of cloud-based POS, Online Ordering, Integrations, Restaurant Marketing suite, to Kitchen management, helping them build a profitable brand.  Using POSist, operators can manage multiple kitchens and brands using its central dashboard and facilitate orders from third-party food aggregators from all major delivery services alongside their own online and mobile ordering platforms. In the last six months, 40% of global customer inquiries for POSist were for Cloud Kitchen Management software.

The restaurant business thrives on the relationship with the guests. A website gives a restaurateur the advantage of gathering critical customer information, order patterns, and insights into their likes and dislikes, creating better engagement. Additionally, POSist online ordering offers a range of customizable website layouts for restaurants to give a personalised experience to their guests by showing them designer menus with photos, rich content, and easy-to-order web navigation.

Restaurants can use online ordering software by integrating with the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools and third-party apps such as loyalty programs, mobile wallets, and cloud telephony, among other services, to drive more revenue. In addition to already existing food aggregator channels, having an in-house website helps in brand building and amplifies the revenue opportunities. It’s a win-win situation for both restaurants and customers.

POSist was one of the first movers to introduce an end-to-end digital ordering system to assist restaurateurs in minimizing physical interactions between patrons and the servers in a dine-in setup. The tech stack includes QR code ordering, a WiFi-based ordering system hosted on the restaurant’s network, and digital bill & payment receipts solutions to reduce physical contact at all possible touchpoints in a restaurant.

“Today, guests seek personalisation, innovative experiences, and great cuisines when they go out for a fine dining experience. In current times, the biggest challenge that fine-dine needs to solve is to win diners’ trust by creating a safe ambiance with no compromises on the dining experience and quality of food.  We believe that all this can be done with contactless technology, such as a digital menu ordering system,” said Bhupender Nath, Founder & Managing Director, Passion F&B (Tresind).

“At Tresind, we are witnessing a change in diners’ behavior compared to pre-pandemic time; consumers have accepted the new ways of dining and are responsibly taking precautions when eating out. Guests have expressed their confidence in our safety measures, and we see them coming back more frequently. I feel it is the collective responsibility of our industry at large to make restaurants safer than ever.”

POSist also introduced its app marketplace for the restaurant industry. The POSist marketplace allows restaurants to quickly discover and install trusted third-party applications to make the front and back of house operations more efficient. The marketplace currently has over 150+ technology partners offering, Online-ordering platforms, Digital wallets, Cloud telephony software, Table reservation platforms, Loyalty programs, and Delivery integration with top online food aggregators globally. Through the Marketplace, POSist is working with the leading technology players in the industry, such as Deliverect, Lyve, RadYes, among others.

“COVID19 has leveled the industry landscape across the world, and we are excited to see that the UAE restaurant industry is getting ahead of the curve,” said Ashish Tulsian, Co-Founder and CEO, POSist.  “With POSist, a cloud-based restaurant technology platform, our focus has always been to give restaurants robust yet easy-to-use tools in a single, simplified platform to run restaurant operations, so you can focus on making just great food.”
