Dubai’s viral humanoid robot Bu Sunaidah has “married” fellow robot Moza in what local media reports describe as the UAE’s first robot wedding, the latest social media campaign featuring the popular humanoid.
According to local media reports, images and videos shared on Bu Sunaidah’s official social media channels show a staged wedding ceremony featuring Moza, a Unitree G1 humanoid robot dressed in a black abaya with gold trim. A post accompanying the images announced the marriage in Arabic and English and thanked family and friends for attending the occasion.
The wedding is fictional rather than a legal or religious ceremony and forms part of an ongoing content campaign developed by the company behind the robot. Local media reported that the post generated more than 41,000 likes, 2,300 comments and approximately 109,000 shares within three days, making it one of Bu Sunaidah’s most widely shared posts.
Bu Sunaidah, a Unitree G1 humanoid robot developed by SS Lootah Group, has gained a substantial online following through videos showcasing Emirati culture, traditions and public events. The robot has appeared alongside UAE leaders and at major events, including the Make it in the Emirates forum.
The latest campaign follows another widely discussed appearance earlier this year, when footage of Bu Sunaidah participating in Eid prayers at a Dubai mosque sparked debate on social media about the role of humanoid robots in cultural and religious settings. An earlier video showing the robot performing the adhan also attracted significant online attention.
