The UAE-headquartered system integrator Visiontech is celebrating 15 years of delivering innovative solutions to enterprise and government clients in the Middle East. The company has grown from a channel startup with two founding members to a 100-strong team offering a comprehensive portfolio of technology solutions to key verticals across the region.

Visiontech started its journey in 2003 in Dubai’s famous Computer Street with a trading office. Company CEO and founder Aliasgar Dohadwala recounts: “Back then, Dubai was a thriving re-export hub and within six months of starting operations we moved towards professional services. We started getting into corporate accounts by offering traditional systems, servers and storage implementations. Within a year, we became deeply entrenched in the corporate SMB market, and in 2005 we started adding practices around cabling, networking, and security.”

Growing out of its SMB roots, Visiontech entered the mid-market as the first Middle East partner of Cyberoam (acquired by Sophos). In 2007, the company partnered with Nortel, which was later acquired by Avaya.

“This was a game changer for us, and we were awarded for revenue performance within the first year of partnership. Another turning point was Etisalat signing us up a FTTH partner in 2009, which helped to diversify business and increase headcount,” says Dohadwala.

A large team with deep technical expertise allowed Visiontech to add more practices in core networking, access control, CCTV and multi-location voice and video connectivity. “We started doing projects in Saudi Arabia, Oman, Bahrain and Africa with a core focus on professional services. In 2012, we introduced our managed services offering, and we could deliver projects of any scale and magnitude. By this time, our clients included big names such as DEWA, RTA, and Saudi Aramco,” says Dohadwala.

Today, Visiontech has on its roster more than 1,500 customers, 200 plus channel partners and 55 different technologies in its portfolio. The company operates through three offices in the UAE, Oman and a partner company in India focused on software development.

“We offer our clients 360-degree scope of solutions and services ranging from endpoints to data centre, including virtualization and cloud. We have a complete team dedicated to managed services and another one focused on voice, video and data. Now, we are moving into artificial intelligence at a government level with engagements in safe city initiatives,” says Dohadwala.

Visiontech also enjoys the highest levels of certifications from its partners such as Huawei, Avaya, Kodak Alaris, Sophos and has recently announced partnerships with Trend Micro and Lenovo. “Our growth has been organic. We started out as just registered partners with some of the brands before reaching platinum and gold levels. We invest in our brands; it is not just about revenue game for us,” says Dohadwala.

He attributes the success of Visiontech to a laser-sharp focus on innovation and a track record of successful project delivery. “Our success ratio is 95 percent on project delivery, one of the reasons why our customers and partners trust us. We are also grateful to our customers who have stood by us and let us do things differently but with higher results. And we don’t sell something that we don’t understand. When we talk about AI and IoT, we practice what we talk – this is what differentiates us,” sums up Dohadwala.
