ManageEngine has made two important announcements at Gitex this year – adding user behaviour analytics (UBA) to ADAudit Plus and the launch of voice assistant and geo-fencing features for Desktop Central.

ADAudit Plus helps IT security teams detect previously undiscoverable threats while also reducing the number of false positives and the latest version of Desktop Central allows IT teams to manage endpoints from the solution’s mobile app via AI-powered virtual assistant.

Reiterating its commitment to the region and the company’s partners and customers, ManageEngine has returned to Gitex for the 12 consecutive year. “The Middle East is a strategically important market for us. We have made a couple of particularly important announcements at Gitex this year. One is in the IT security space that is gaining a lot of importance of late. The capability we are launching is user behaviour analytics powered by artificial intelligence and machine learning,” says Rajesh Ganesan, vice president – product management at ManageEngine.

Endpoint management is critical to IT security, because most security breaches originate from the endpoints. According to Ganesan, user behaviour has changed drastically over the past couple of years. “People are no longer working inside closed networks, which calls for addition controls for information security to identify human behaviour to detect patterns and anomalies before something goes wrong. To address this, we have announced the addition of user behaviour analytics (UBA) to ADAudit Plus that learns from usual and unusual patterns to help customers to stay ahead to threats, rather than simply doing damage control,” he adds.

ManageEngine employs AI in Desktop Central’s new virtual assistant, which comes integrated with its mobile app for Android devices. With the AI-powered virtual assistant, IT teams can perform complex tasks in a few quick voice commands.

“We have also added geo-fencing capabilities to Desktop Central that provide IT teams with location-specific security commands. Consider the case of a data centre. With the proliferation of mobile devices, it is easy for someone entering a data centre to send critical information outside. This is where our geo-fencing feature kicks-in and puts all user devices on airplane mode, the moment they enter an information sensitive place like a data centre.”

ManageEngine is already working with a number of banks, airports, hospitals, etc. to implement the solutions showcased this year at Gitex.
